As Brian mentioned, our October 13thGeneral Membership meeting will be held in the lounge meeting room at theBranch 43 Legion. This is a new era forour association and we do hope the membership embraces and enjoys our newlocation for membership meetings. TheLegion has been very welcoming and great to work with.
Most of our membership is well aware ofthe Legion and I know some are Legion members. The Legion has a long, storied and honourable history as does Branch 43itself. The move to the Legion providesour members better access and facilities for our meetings. We also have access to the lounge facilitiesfor our meetings, including the members’ bar for those that wish to. The lounge makes a great socializing spaceprior to the formal meeting time. Comeearly, at noon and enjoy the lounge.
Home Instead will continue to providecoffee and donuts for our meetings. Thiswill now be set up inside the lounge meeting room for our members. Thank you to Home Instead for continuing this.
Thefocus of the October meeting will be a welcome to the Legion presentation andopen house. Details are still beingfinalized at this time. We want this tobe an interesting, welcoming experience for all of our membership. We’re looking forward to the meeting andseeing you there, Tuesday, October 13th.

We pay tribute to members and colleagues who have passed away. If you wish to notify the association of a member's passing or share an obituary, please contact the association directly at GMSRA@gmsalariedretirees.com.
Join fellow GM retirees on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (Sept-Dec & March-May) at the Royal Canadian Legion (471 Simcoe St South, Oshawa) for coffee, friendship, and presentations. June features our Vic Pratt Golf Tournament (no meetings in Jan, Feb, July, or Aug).
It was another great turnout for the picnic again this year. We had a total of 112 RSVPs this year and we were pretty close to that at meal time. Thank you for the RSVPs so we could gauge the number of meals. The Legion Auxiliary did a great job of meal preparation and table service, including coffee and tea. It was an enjoyable meal for all.
